Union Baptist Association offers scholarships each year for schooling and mission work. The following are the guide lines we use in issuing the scholarships.
Student Scholarships
:
(A) The Scholarship :
The scholarship is awarded on a per student, per semester basis to students serving or preparing to serve in the ministry. Prime consideration will be given to those applicants entering the Preaching Ministry. Consideration will be given in the following order:
(1) Under graduate
(2) Graduate
(3) Post graduate
B. The Recipient:
(1) Resident of a county served by the Union Baptist Association.
(a) Dependent child of a resident of a county served by Union Baptist Association.
(b) Pastor, Minister of Music, Minister of Youth, or Minister of Education of a church in the Union Baptist Association.
(2) Member of a church in the Union Baptist Association (exception could be, a student who has moved their membership to the area where they are attending school )
(3) Dedicated to be a full time or Bi-Vocational Pastor, Minister of Music, Minister of Youth or Minister of Education as life’s work.
Mission
The Mission Scholarships funds have been made available to encourage members of our Association to participate in evangelistic missions. It has been made available to help those who need financial assistance.
(1)The Scholarship Committee which includes the Mission/Ministry Leader, the Moderator, and the Director of Missions will approve determination of recipients of this fund.
(2) Eligible first time applicants will receive a minimum of $300.00 but will not exceed $750.00. After their first trip, funding will be reduced to 50% of the cost of the trip not to exceed $300.00.
(3) Each person is eligible for only one scholarship per fiscal year. Funding will be disbursed on a first come first serve basis.
(4) Those who are certified in Disaster Relief will automatically qualify for $100.00 per physical year to participate in a disaster relief project.
Applications for these scholarships can be picked up at the Union Baptist Association Office and returned to the office for consideration.
